The Midnight Light Music Festival employs girls to drive the festival's artists in their EPA tractors. During two warm summer nights, we get an insight into the lives, culture and dreams of seven young girls in the interior of northern Sweden.
Jakob Arevärn & Fredrik Oskarsson is both directors living and working in Umeå, Sweden. This is their first collaboration as directors.
"There is a lot of focus in the media on depopulation in the rural areas in northern Sweden. We wanted to make a positive film about the pride in being from Vilhelmina - where the girls are the future of motor culture."
The film is produced by Lampray AB and co-produced by Bautafilm AB, Filmpool Nord and Sveriges Television in association with Film i Västerbotten.
